Trouble Installing Obspy for Windows

THe problem not only arise for numpy, but for scipy, matplotlib, etc., as well. I just downloaded Python 2.7.6 64-bit. I think I downloaded the 32 bit Python before, and that’s what’s loading when I call python.exe in the Obspy shell. Is there a way to call the 64-bit python instead of the 32-bit python in the obspy shell or the Ipython console?

oh my - two possiblities:

(1)
- - deinstall obspy
- - remove everthing which is related to 32bit python (you may have to
restart your computer)
- - run obspy installer again
- - it should now install using your 64bit python

(2)
- - forget about the virtualenv
- - install your preferred python version
- - install all dependencies for this python version
- - install obspy via easy_install

build package (PyPI)"
