Hi everyone,
I’m exploring the application of Structured Knowledge Accumulation (SKA)—an entropy-based, forward-only learning framework—to real-time seismic data, and I’m looking to collaborate with open-source seismology developers and researchers, especially those familiar with ObsPy and continuous data streaming.
Background: SKA has demonstrated success in financial market regime detection and we are currently piloting it for medical signal analysis.. We’re now exploring its application to seismic time series.
Project Goals:
- Apply SKA to continuous seismic waveforms to identify entropy trajectories and regime transitions at millisecond resolution
- Detect subtle state changes (e.g., microseismic regimes) beyond classical trigger or arrival-time analysis
- Share open-source tools, annotated data, and reproducible examples
Who I’m Looking For:
- ObsPy users experienced with real-time data pipelines (SeedLink/FDSN)
- Researchers interested in entropy, regime detection, or information-theoretic approaches to seismology
- Contributors open to building a collaborative, open-source foundation for SKA‑based seismic analysis
What You’ll Get:
- Access to SKA framework adapted for seismic time-series
- Support integrating SKA into your ObsPy workflows via API
- Potential co-authorship on publications exploring entropy-driven seismic regimes
