Failed to read Kinemetrics EVT file because of bad Tag value

Hi Obspy users,
I am attempting to read a bunch of EVT files written by a Kinemetrics Etna strong-motion accelerometer. The read fails because of some problem with a header value–see output below. What is a Tag value, and why it might be “bad”? (This is the first time I’ve encountered EVT data and I’m unfamiliar with the format.)
