# Intermittent MDL errors around "split lines"?

Hi - I’ve recently started getting intermittent (and hence hard to predictably reproduce, and/or actually track down) errors when using the Massdownloader to access data from Earthscope. The MDL returns the exception ‘ConnectionResetError’ object has no attribute ‘splitlines’, occasionally repeatedly, but then sometimes just works. I’ve not knowingly had this before, and I’ve not changed anything about my setup. Has anyone else encountered this?

It could potentially be due to Earthscope changing servers and rerouting the old endpoints and stuff like that. So hopefully it should stabilize soon also with the new obspy release around the corner.

In the meantime, you could always try to manually use the new server URL [NSF SAGE: DMC Web Services](https://service.earthscope.org/fdsnws/) to set it for FDSN WS clients / mass downloader manually.

Thanks! Manually specifying the new EarthScope FDSN address, and related variables seems to have solved the problem!
